Today’s prompt is to write a poem using a kenning. A kenning is a combination of two nouns to describe another noun. The Norse used these often-an example of one of their kennings is “sky candle” for “sun”. Anyway, here is a silly little kenning-poem.
Wakefulness giver:
Wakefulness giver
Hot cup in my hands
Swirl of cream, dark liquid, steam
Rising
Nothing could be better than the aroma of your brewing
Upon my waking.
Love it!
