NaPoWriMo, Day 11

The prompt for today is to write an “anachreontic”, an English-language version of an old Greek form. More or less, it is comprised of 7-syllable sentences. I think. But it is definitely supposed to be about love and wine.

Today’s poem:

If love will not comfort me;
What then is my remedy?
Shall I drink wine till I smile?
That can only work awhile.
But if I comfort myself,
Then I will need nothing else.
