NaPoWriMo, Day 7

Today’s prompt was to write a love poem to an inanimate object. That didn’t pan out for me, but here is a poem about my dog. She is definitely not inanimate, but perhaps somewhere in between that and a person on the love poem spectrum. 🙂

Today’s poem:

Little body of love content at my side, head on my hip
Dark eye holds the soul of all her kin
Legs stretched out,
Belly moves in and out.
She absorbs my love like
Sunlight, but could easily wander off to follow a scent too intoxicating to resist,
Never to be seen again.
The mother of the world made such things this way.
