NaPoWriMo, Day 6

Today’s prompt was to describe the view out your window. Here is the day’s poem:

I thought about staying inside, and
describing the view from my window.
But then I ventured out to see
The world without frames.

As I sit in the chilly spring air, in a low chair, I
sip beer from a coffee cup,
watch tennis players spring off the balls of their feet, slice and smack the air with rackets, rush the net, and
I am
grateful for the warmth of my scarf
and for the pops of color under the gray sky.
Blue, pink and yellow shirts everyone has chosen, remind me of brightly colored houses on a Scandinavian day.

I am dressed in black and white, as usual, but my lips and nails are red-
signs of the spring within.
